Cozywoods Owners

Here are Randall and Lisa, owners of Cozywoods. Randall has been around horses his entire life, since he was a toddler growing up in the mountains of North Carolina. He won his first trophy at age six for being the youngest rider on his own horse in the Western North Carolina Wagon Train.

He competed in Racking Horse competitions until age fifteen when he switched over to Quarter Horses because the breed is more versatile and better at handling the mountain trails Randall loves. Randall is finally realizing his dream of starting an enterprise combining his extensive experience with horses, his knowledge of area trails and campsites, and his natural ability to make all feel comfortable and welcome.

As you enter this web site you will see "Diamond Jack", Cozywood's resident stallion. Randall's personal horse, whom he raised and trained.

Lisa was introduced to horses when she married Randall 23 years ago. In addition to her interest in horses, Lisa is a nurse at our local hospital. She and Randall have many memories of their children with their horses and hope that the three grandchildren will experience the same joy and interest as well.

Esther

Esther is our Barn and Business coordinator. If you need anything, she is the one to see.

Esther is our local Equine club president and is very knowledgeable in all aspects of Natural Horsemanship and Horse care. She is also a representative for ATHA in NC and judges riders who want to certify their horse as a Reg. American Trail Horse. Esther's horse, "Prissy," has passed the 7 stamps of Excellence and is well known in these parts for her trail abilities.

Prissy would love for you to come and ask her if she wants a cookie! She always waves her head YES!

Tiffany

What are horses to Tiffany? Tiffany admits that horses mean a great deal to her. She can't think of a childhood memory without them.

While camping at Fires Creek or swimming at the lake, she has always had her horse with her. Tiffany says, "Without horses there would be a missing piece in my heart."

Tiffany started riding with her Dad when she was still in diapers. She asked for her own horse at age four, and by five was riding that horse alone. As she got older, she became more interested in horse shows. By thirteen she joined the rodeo flag team, barrel raced
and did pole bending.

She is currently a student at Tri-County Community College in Murphy, N.C. but still makes plenty of time for her horse APretty Lady.@ Parents Randall and Lisa are happy that Tiffany will be helping out as a guide and around the barn.
